Academic speaking is a study that studies speaking in presentations, seminars, and tutorials. During the learning in this academic speaking class, we were asked to be able to present the ideas that were in our minds. A good presentation must be well-structured, logical, and clear. So, we learn day by day to be able to present well the results of the discussions that we have prepared. The more we practice, the more fluent we become in speaking which is good academically. Of course, we have a hard time coming together in the face of differences of opinion within the existing group. But from there we learned to respect each other and work together for our common goals. Hopefully, with this academic speaking class, we will be able to speak academically in front of many people and be able to convey our thoughts clearly.

1.       First Reflection:

I really enjoyed the discussion with a group of friends who discussed students' critical thinking. We exchanged a lot of ideas with each other about how important it is to hone critical thinking skills in students. In the discussion, I can see the different views and opinions of each person so that we learn to appreciate them, and also get new knowledge. My group of friends also kindly helped me in discussions even though I was only temporarily studying here in the existing student exchange activities.

At the end of the discussion, we also conclude that we need to think critically because we can see and assess various problems that exist through various perceptions, we can also sort out which is a fact or just an opinion, and we can solve problems and make decisions calmly. So, we must train ourselves as often as possible to develop the ability to think critically in various ways such as in completing tasks, and others. We provide various suggestions and inputs to hone critical thinking skills in the hope of helping the audience.

We also discussed digital technology which is one of the factors that can help hone critical thinking skills. Because digital technology can collect and share various information and literature from various parts of the world, we can use it to hone our critical thinking skills. So, we should take advantage of existing digital technology and follow its development.

With this assignment, we also practice our speaking skills so that our explanations can be understood well by the audience. I also learned to choose which words are suitable to use in discussing this topic. I learn by listening to native speakers speak and imitating them to make my pronunciation clearer. So much learning in the fun experience of the discussion that we have done.

2.       Second Reflection:

We are all experiencing a pandemic from covid 19. This makes us have to continue to carry out daily activities with some changes following the health protocol from the government. As is the case in schools that require teachers and students to carry out the online learning process. These changes are certainly not easy for teachers and students to make at first. We must learn to get used to gadgets and other online learning methods as they adapt to circumstances. And it also brings a variety of positive and negative impacts. This was the discussion we discussed in the project assignment, namely 'Education of the post-pandemic era'. We share our experiences and summarize them in the video presentation which helps us to practice our speaking skills. We learned the correct pronunciation before taking the video. And hopefully, our speaking skills will get better day by day.

3.       Reflection on the video entitled "Going international: How studying abroad can change your life".

The videos given are very educational and motivating for me. The spirit of the speaker to the audience who hears it. Many messages are obtained from hearing and watching the video. In the video, the speaker explains the importance of better higher education, what can be done about how we can take part, and how the path to an exclusive future can be. It makes us think that a better higher education allows us to get to know the world. Through better higher education, we can become a better fit in society. The speaker also argued that education can help us to understand an increasingly complex world. He also gave an example from the OECD, namely the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in 2009 which stated that several qualities would greatly improve the employability of university graduates with experience abroad. Because wherever they go, when they return to their own country, their self-initiative is usually more motivated and they learn how to talk to other people in a different language, how to solve problems, and see the world through different eyes. I really enjoyed the video because it provides a lot of useful motivation.

Reflection on the video entitled "Stop doubting yourself and go after what you really, really want" by Mario Lanzarotti.

In the video, Mario claims that self-doubt is one of history's best developments. He previously described self-doubt as a mental dialogue in which your mind doubts your capacity to come up with desired answers to envisioned issues. Intuition can be silenced by self-doubt, which prevents you from determining what you truly want. Mario also shared his experience of wanting to become a pilot in the past but running into a major obstacle the once-in-a-lifetime pilot test, which thousands of people have failed. He questions his ability to attempt this, the fact that no one in his family has ever done something similar, and the possibility of failure. We experience loneliness because we believe that others won't fully comprehend us. As a result, he finds himself struggling alone with self-doubt while trying to make sense of everything, and loneliness is one of the self-strongest doubt's allies. Then, a few weeks later, he was given the chance to fly with the airline captain in the cockpit. He was initially ashamed to discuss his self-doubt with the flight captain since doing so might make it seem as though he lacked the necessary skills. But once he mustered up the strength to express his uncertainties, the flying captain gave a reply that forever altered Mario's fate. Everyone experiences self-doubt, he claimed, but only those who have the guts to acknowledge it can find help and make progress. After hearing that, Mario gained the confidence and guts necessary to begin her pilot training. He discovered that sharing our confidence helps us to overcome self-doubt. One of the best things that have ever occurred to us is the concept of self-doubt, so if we treat it like an enemy, we just strengthen it. However, if we view them as friends, they can assist us in realizing our full potential. So, let's love ourselves if we are all filled with uncertainty and fear. To forgive ourselves for past errors and mistakes so that we can learn from them as I learn to forgive myself is to overcome self-doubt and achieve what we truly desire. The person you've been searching for all your life is in doubt. Since self-doubt is merely an illusion in your mind and emotions, it is dispelled by self-love. Self-doubt is one of the nicest things ever because of this.
